What is the 6.9 metre pontoon boat?
The 6.9 metre pontoon boat is a versatile Australian made pontoon vessel designed for recreational, commercial and industrial applications. It can be configured as a party boat, fishing pontoon, transport barge, work platform, hire boat or utility vessel.
How many people can the 6.9 metre pontoon boat carry?
The standard twin hull configuration is suitable for approximately 1 to 10 people. A centre row of floats can be added to create a tri-hull configuration, increasing stability and allowing greater passenger and load capacities.
What are the pontoons made from?
The pontoons use 333 litre flotation modules manufactured from UV stabilised, high-density polyethylene. These one-piece moulded floats are impact resistant, corrosion resistant and designed for long service life in harsh marine environments.
What is the maximum load capacity?
Load capacities vary depending on configuration. The twin hull flotation package supports up to approximately 1,500kg, while the tri-hull configuration supports up to approximately 2,250kg before frame and decking options are added.
Can I purchase only the pontoon floats?
Yes. Marine Dock Systems supplies individual flotation modules, nose cones, fasteners and complete pontoon hull packages for customers building their own pontoon boat or floating platform.
Can I build my own 6.9 metre pontoon boat?
Yes. Detailed drawings, flotation modules, aluminium frames and components are available for owner-builders who wish to construct their own pontoon boat, fishing platform or work barge.
What frame material is used?
The boat frame is manufactured from fully welded marine-grade aluminium and assembled using stainless steel fasteners for maximum strength, corrosion resistance and long-term durability.
Can the 6.9 metre pontoon boat be customised?
Yes. Options include motor brackets, rear boarding steps, handrails, gates, hardtop roofs, steering consoles, marine carpet, furniture, rod holders, ladders, toilets, change rooms and custom layouts.
Is the 6.9 metre pontoon boat suitable for commercial use?
Yes. These boats are commonly used by councils, hire operators, contractors, aquaculture businesses, water authorities and industrial operators for transport, maintenance and marine work applications.
What engines can be fitted?
The pontoon boat can be fitted with a range of outboard motors depending on intended use, load requirements and operating conditions. Custom motor brackets and twin engine configurations are also available.
What are the benefits of a tri-hull pontoon boat?
A tri-hull design increases flotation, improves stability, increases payload capacity and provides better performance when carrying larger passenger numbers or heavier equipment.
Can the pontoon boat be used as a fishing platform?
Yes. The large deck area, stable platform and optional fishing accessories make the 6.9 metre pontoon boat ideal for recreational fishing, charter operations and commercial fishing applications.
Can the boat be used as a work barge?
Yes. Many customers use the 6.9 metre pontoon boat as a floating work platform for maintenance, inspections, construction projects, dredging support and marine service operations.
Are the flotation modules maintenance free?
The polyethylene flotation modules require very little maintenance. They will not rust, corrode or deteriorate like traditional steel pontoons and are designed for long-term marine use.
Is the 6.9 metre pontoon boat Australian made?
Yes. The flotation modules, aluminium frames and pontoon boat systems are proudly manufactured in Australia by Marine Dock Systems using proven designs developed over decades of marine industry experience.
