What is the 4.6 metre pontoon boat designed for?
The 4.6 metre pontoon boat is designed for recreational boating, fishing, water testing, industrial maintenance, aquaculture operations, environmental monitoring and commercial work platform applications. Its size provides an excellent balance between portability, stability and payload capacity.
How many people can the 4.6 metre pontoon boat carry?
The standard twin hull configuration is ideal for 1 to 4 people. When fitted with the optional centre row of floats, the tri-hull configuration can comfortably accommodate up to 6 people depending on equipment and operating conditions.
What flotation modules are used in the 4.6 metre pontoon boat?
The boat is manufactured using six 333 litre polyethylene flotation modules and two nose cones. An optional centre row can be added using three additional flotation modules and one nose cone for increased buoyancy and stability.
How much weight can the 4.6 metre pontoon boat carry?
The twin hull flotation package provides approximately 900kg of payload capacity, while the optional tri-hull configuration increases payload capacity to approximately 1350kg before allowing for frame and deck weight.
What are the flotation modules made from?
The flotation modules are rotationally moulded from tough UV stabilised polyethylene. They are impact resistant, corrosion resistant and designed for long service life in marine environments.
Are the pontoon floats suitable for saltwater use?
Yes. The polyethylene flotation modules are suitable for both freshwater and saltwater applications and are commonly used in rivers, lakes, estuaries, marinas and coastal environments.
Can I purchase only the floats and build my own pontoon boat?
Yes. Marine Dock Systems supplies flotation modules, nose cones and fasteners separately, allowing customers to manufacture their own aluminium frame or custom pontoon boat design.
What frame material is used?
The pontoon boat frames are manufactured from fully welded marine grade aluminium. Aluminium provides excellent strength while remaining lightweight and corrosion resistant.
Can an outboard motor be fitted?
Yes. Optional outboard motor brackets are available and can be supplied as part of several package configurations. Steering consoles can also be added for enhanced control and comfort.
What optional accessories are available?
Optional extras include marine carpet, mooring cleats, handrails, gates, nose extensions, hardtop roofs, steering consoles, fishing rod holders, boarding ladders, rear steps and additional flotation modules.
What is the advantage of the centre row of floats?
The optional centre row converts the vessel into a tri-hull configuration, increasing buoyancy by approximately 450kg while improving stability, load carrying capacity and ride performance.
Can the pontoon boat be customised?
Yes. Marine Dock Systems regularly customises pontoon boats with different deck layouts, handrails, gates, work platforms, roofs, seating arrangements and specialised equipment to suit customer requirements.
Is the 4.6 metre pontoon boat suitable for fishing?
