Marine Dock Systems pile caps are manufactured from UV stabilised, high stress crack resistant linear polyethylene. This material provides excellent durability in harsh marine and waterfront environments. Why should timber piles be fitted with pile caps? Timber piles naturally absorb water through exposed end grain. Pile caps help keep the timber dry, reducing rot, splitting and weather damage while improving the lifespan of jetties, pontoons and marine structures. Do pile caps help prevent bird roosting? Yes.
